104 Degrees

Holy cow it was hot today. These were taken at 3:00, the air still, the sun intense. I don't know how these boys do it. I could hardly stand to venture away from the measly shade of my umbrella. Tomorrow will be cooling off and only 100 degrees...poor kids!

Inspiration

When I scrapbook, I generally look at online galleries, flip through magazines, or copy the work of friends for inspiration. On a very rare occasion, I come up with an idea all on my own from places you'd least expect it.
Take this layout for instance. This has been dancing around in my head for a year.

And what was the source of inspiration? Take a look.

This commercial is a classic and never ceases to put a smile on my face during the doldrums of a long summer. The kids know I love it and combined with the fact that I always treated myself to a pedicure the week they go back to school, I knew it was something I wanted to scrap about.

And thank you Nana, the paper was from that store up in Sacramento, it was perfect to use.

It's Fall

Gerah! Pictures, Images and Photos Yeah, right!
Air conditioner is cranking,
Hibernating inside in the middle of the day,
Going to the pool at 6:00 to cool off...

Happy fall, y'all!

Little Party Big Gift

A little party for a little boy who loves Cars.

A big breakfast with little nutrition :-)

A little cake and a little mess...

A little bit overwhelmed so just a little bit of smiling caught on film...

But...this little car got a BIG response. He ran right to it, hopped right in and was so excited.

For the first few days, Jack was content to sit in it or let Garrett and Morgan help make it go. But he's driving solo now :-O

Yep, it was the 12th

And, nope, I didn't forget. Just got busy.

1. Woke up early to a big lightening and thunder storm. Morgan says it was the first time she's seen lightening that wasn't on tv. Very light rain, but huge plops.
2 & 11 At the end of the day, Chris, Garrett and Jack went to the golf course. Technically Jack is supposed to be 5 to play there, so they sneak him on.
3. Played for an hour in the sandbox.
4. Wrapping some presents for Jack.
5, 7 & 8 Morgan had a 1 hour private lesson. Still working to that vault and getting her score up. She was absolutely red in the face after that work out.
6 & 9 Garrett's first league game. They lost 0-1.
10. My last day with my one year old. How independent he has become this year.
12. Playing with cars. He will do this for at least an hour at a time.

A Yearly Tradition

I'm not sure if two years qualifies as a tradition, but I do plan to keep this going. Last year I put together a slideshow when Jack turned one. I had pictures on different computers that I had to organize, worked with difficult programs, put way too many hours into it, but love that I have it completed. You can find it here.
Well how quickly another year passed and while he's not quite 2, I finished this ahead of schedule. This year I decided to keep it simpler, but I chose my favorite pictures from the year and I think it really sums up the physical and personality changes we saw over the year.
Thanks for looking.
